We have had government shutdowns before, but this one is different. Lawmakers are really at a gridlock and are making it hard to come together and negotiate. My two-year-old has better communication skills than our members of Congress–we have been teaching him how to use his words. He is a quick learner! 

The concept of No Kings Day is from the very core of our nation. To our founding fathers, this concept was not new to them. Inspiration for the Constitution came from many things but the founding fathers believed that all people have rights–rights that even a king must respect. If you ask me, it is an interesting time in history. A harmonic, if you will. Two very different stories, yet the same core concepts.

At the end of the day, politics is about the People—about you and me. Our families, children, and the working people. I think career politicians forget that. And it is time one of two things happens: remind them of their purpose or replace them. 

We must foster our sense of shared purpose, connection, trust, and love of one another. We must remind our friends and neighbors that we are all Americans, that we are all in this together. And we do this through conversation and getting to know one another. So, join me and let’s get a little personal.

His expenditures include transactions made at the Congressional Liquor store, to a $10,000 bill from a luxury ski resort, St. Regis Deer Valley. Who pays for this?

Although we are not officially designated as the weather capital, Oklahoma is home to the National Weather Center on the campus of the University of Oklahoma. As Oklahomans, we understand the importance of being weather aware.

Debates over immigration tend to focus on numbers, policies, and border security, but immigration is bigger than all the numbers and statistics. Immigration is not just a policy issue; it is a human one. Immigration is about people. Immigrants are human beings just like you and me with stories, dreams, and dignity. Take my wife, Rocio, for example. Rocio has been in this country for over 30 years, and it took her many years, challenges, and prayers to become a naturalized citizen of the United States.

Oklahoma ranks second in the nation for beef cows, with more cattle than people. In 2020, Oklahoma exported $349.9 million in beef and veal, contributing approximately $2.7 billion to the state’s economy annually. One out of every fifty jobs in Oklahoma is supported by the pork industry, which we lead 9th in the nation.

Children are not able to do basic arithmetic. Why is this such a big deal? Well, education impacts the workforce, the economy, and the overall quality of life.
