800-mile Bicycle Tour Through Every County in Oklahoma’s Fourth Congressional District
Veteran, Public Defender, Husband and Father of Five Plans Modern-Day Whistle Stop Tour to Meet Voters Face-to-Face Across District 4
NORMAN, Okla. — Democratic congressional candidate Mitchell Jacob announced plans for a post-primary bicycle tour through every county in Oklahoma’s Fourth Congressional District, bringing a modern-day version of the traditional whistle-stop campaign directly to the people he hopes to represent in Congress.
If successful in the June 16 Democratic primary, Jacob will travel county by county and mile by mile by bicycle, meeting residents, listening to their concerns, and continuing a campaign built on direct engagement rather than politics from a distance.
“I believe leadership means showing up,” Jacob said. “I want to listen, learn, and prove that this campaign is about the people of Oklahoma, and not politics as usual. The best way to understand what matters to people is to meet them where they are and hear their stories firsthand.”
Jacob says his campaign is rooted in the everyday challenges facing working families. In his work as a public defender, he fights every day for people who need someone in their corner. At home, he understands the pressures many Oklahomans face because his family experiences them too—from rising health care costs and higher gas prices to the challenge of paying a mortgage and raising children in today’s economy.
“I know what it’s like to worry about the same things my neighbors worry about,” Jacob said.
“Families across Oklahoma are working hard, doing everything right, and still feeling squeezed. Washington needs more people who understand those realities because they live them.”
The bicycle tour is inspired by the historic whistle-stop campaigns that once brought candidates directly into communities large and small.
“Years ago, candidates traveled from town to town, shaking hands, listening to voters, and earning support face-to-face,” Jacob said. “I believe we need more of that spirit in politics today. If I win the primary, I’m all in.”
The journey also reflects Jacob’s personal commitment to perseverance and service. In 2015, he completed a bicycle ride from Flagstaff, Arizona, to Los Angeles, California, and back again, an experience that tested his endurance and reinforced the value of determination.

MITCHELL JACOB ANNOUNCES CAMPAIGN FOR UNITED STATES CONGRESS IN OKLAHOMA’S 4TH DISTRICT
Wayne, OK - Joined by Cal Hobson, former President Pro Tempore of the Oklahoma Senate, and Rocio Jacob, wife of Mitchell Jacob. Mitchell Jacob officially announces his campaign for United States Congress on Saturday, August 16th, 2025, at the Mid-America Technology Center in Wayne, OK. This event brought together family, friends, and supporters from across the district who want to be part of the change in Congressional District 4.
“There are 14 counties encompassed by this district, and it is the people who believe in the mission who make the most change, and I am just here to be a voice for you and your needs,” said Mitchell Jacob.
Mitchell spoke about three pieces of legislation he is ready to write and sponsor if elected to Congressional District 4. The DNA Act, the HOPE Act, and a statutory change for the federal government. Doctors, Not Accountants: the DNA Act covers healthcare and will not allow accountants to deny coverage that duly licensed physicians prescribe. Holding Our Parents Equally Accountable, the HOPE Act – parents purchasing a firearm for their child or negligently maintaining a firearm will be liable for the same crimes their child commits with said weapon. His last piece is a statutory change that will require Congress to follow the single-subject rule, so that each bill addresses only one topic.
The kickoff featured remarks from Cal Hobson, followed by Rocio Jacob on the issue of immigration. “This administration is operating without a single regard to due process, without a single regard to the Constitution, and without a single regard to basic human rights,” said Rocio Jacob.
“I’ve seen this for 50 years, Mitchell is the kind of young man that can change the future of this state,” said Cal Hobson as he closed off the event.
His campaign is focused on building a better Oklahoma and taking back the power of our beautiful Democracy. Jacob believes that every child has the right to a quality education. Access to basic, life-saving care is a fundamental human right. We must fight for the constitutional rights of every individual and eliminate the federal debt.
