The Closing Argument
Well, my friends, tomorrow is the day. The day thousands of Oklahomans choose their democratic nominee. June 16 also marks 10 months since we kicked off this campaign. We’ve been organizing since August and have visited voters in 11 counties, from Oklahoma City to Norman to Chickasha, Lawton, Pauls Valley, Ada, Sulphur, Ardmore, and Marietta. It has been a wonderful experience meeting and listening to Oklahomans across Congressional District Four.
Over the past 10 months, I have been having honest conversations with voters about issues that matter most to them. And one thing is evident: voters are fed up with the corruption taking over our country. In those conversations, I promise voters one thing. I promise I will fight for them. When I enlisted in the Army, I took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America, and that oath has no expiration date.
I ran for State House in 2024 because someone needed to stand up to Ryan Walters. I launched this campaign with those same values. All children deserve quality education, and if I earn your vote and win the democratic nomination for U.S. Congress, I will continue to advocate for world-class education for our children.
I am a public defender because I care about the injustices Americans face and willingly walk into a courtroom every day to advocate for people in their most vulnerable moments. When elected, I will continue to advocate for the rights and best interests of all Americans.
As a candidate for the United States Congress, I have listened. I have met voters where they are. I have built trust across the district. I have drafted three pieces of proposed legislation that I am ready to write and sponsor if I earn your support tomorrow and am elected in November. The HOPE Act, DNA Act, and the Single-Subject Rule. I am ready to serve you. I am ready to fight for you. I am all in.
This campaign has been built and powered by everyday working people tired of sitting around waiting for change, and this election is a choice about the representation we want in November. Like you, I understand big-family economics. Like you, I understand the strain of skyrocketing health insurance and the headache that comes with trying to have a simple procedure. Like you, I have to budget for higher grocery prices and the rising cost of living. I know what it is like to struggle in this economy, and Congressional District Four needs a fighter who understands Oklahomans.
There is too much going on in our country and not enough people standing up to it, so I promise I will fight. I promise to put in the work and, most importantly, to listen because I won’t have all the answers. I promise to put the People first—the good people of CD4, Oklahoma, and the United States. I pledge to you nothing but my all. Now, let’s finish what we started. Polls are open tomorrow from 7 AM - 7 PM. Don’t miss your chance to make your voice heard in this primary election. Vote YES on State Question 832. Vote Mitchell Jacob for United States Congress.
